Being a mother,

Being a mother is staying up all night if need be. Being a mother is putting up with crying, back pains due to picking up toys and of course, breastfeeding. It is to endure wounds on the breasts (due to bites), it is to delay all the tasks of the day to satisfy the need for attention (of them), that is, to play, to pamper, to love. Being a mother is sometimes painful. It's not easy.

But being a mother is also much more than that. Being a mother is love, it’s affection. To be a mother is to hold and embrace. Being a mother is soothe. being a mother is so rewarding that we stop thinking about late (quick) baths and all the missed meals because they grow up and one day they no longer need us. Today my daughter said that she no longer needed my help to build a tower and let me say that I never felt so much pain and pride at the same time. I have two little angels that make me a better person every day. I have two little angels who, despite all the negative things, manage to show me how rewarding it is to be a mother. It’s important to know and accept that it’s ok to not be ok, it’s the hardest but the most rewarding part of being a mother.

Please know that there are people out there that is going through exactly the same thing and that they would love to hear your experiences. There are people out there ready to stretch out their arms to help or even soothe you. You are not alone, so please don’t feel alone!

Whatever is good for your soul, do that. Be light, be you.
